Mirror Pond Gallery Press ReleasesRecent Press Releases Mirror Pond Gallery's Last First Friday Mirror Pond Gallery's last First Friday will be on December 5, 5- 9 p.m. Featuring MPG Sales Gallery Artists and a 30% off sale. Music donated by Bare Roots Band. During the last 15 years, nearly 1000 artists have shown their works at Mirror Pond Gallery, with over 100 Central Oregon artists having been active in the gallery during the past year. Per the County, Mirror Pond Gallery now faces loosing its property tax exempt-status if it remains a "sales gallery". Because of this, Mirror Pond Gallery will cease to be a retail establishment starting January 1, 2009. Mirror Pond Gallery invites citizens to join in acknowledging its "last First Friday". Cate O'Hagan, Executive Director of Arts Central will speak at 6:30 p.m. Guests may purchase raffle tickets for an original oil painting by Gordon Baker, drawing will occur on December 19. June 6, 2008 -- Chair-i-Table Event Auction Stop by Mirror Pond Gallery on downtown Bend, between now and June 5, to preview the amazing hand decorated chairs and tables that will be auctioned on June 6, during the and Annual Chair-i-Table Event. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit both Mirror Pond gallery and Bend Area Habitat for Humanity. Auction: Friday, June 6, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Tower Theatre
June 5, 2008 -- Architects in Schools exhibit The Architecture Foundation of Oregon and Arts Central present the first every Central Oregon Architects in the Schools exhibit. Three Bend area elementary schools and four volunteer architects from Central Oregon are participating. Final student projects will be on display June 5, with selected works being displayed at Mirror Pond Gallery for the remainder of June.

June 13, 2008--Northwest Plein Air exhibit
Mirror Pond Gallery will feature the Northwest Plein Air exhibit during the month of July. The term plein air refers to a painting whose origin, concept, composition, and value range has been established on locations outdoors. Over forty artists are participating in the show from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Northern California. The guest juror is Ken Roth, a local artist with a national reputation. The Plein Air Painters of Oregon (PAPO) and Mirror Pond Gallery are jointly sponsoring the show. Exhibit and Reception: Friday, July 4, 2008, as part of the First Friday Art Walk from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Recognition Awards will be announced at 5:00 p.m.
June 13, 2008--Raffle of Plein Air painting
A plein air painting donated by local artist Gordon Baker will be raffled by Mirror Pond Gallery on August 1, 2008. Raffle tickets are $2.50, each or three tickets for $5, and can be purchased at Mirror Pond Gallery. Proceeds from the raffle will support Arts Central and the Mirror Pond Gallery. The Northwest Plein Air exhibit on view at the Mirror Pond Gallery during the month of July.
