First Fridays!*

Arts Central participates in the downtown First Friday Art Walks with interesting shows from local art groups such as the High Desert Art League, Alt Group, coordinating with the Des Chutes Historical Society, COCC, Architecture Foundation of Oregon/Architects in Schools, and other unique and interesting community partners. In addition, we have the Potters for Education pottery sale as a benefit for our scholarship program several times a year.

All exhibits are showcased at Arts Central in downtown Bend (875 NW Brooks Street, 97701) with Regular Hours: Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm

January 2012 - Potters for Education

Potters for Education (PFE) is partnering again (and continuing the December 2011 showcase) with Arts Central in January to support children's art education. Through Saturday January 21st, local potters will show and sell their pottery at Arts Central, 875 NW Brooks St., in Bend as a fundraiser with a portion of all sales going towards Arts Central's scholarship program for youth in need. First Friday January 6th from 4-8pm.

In 2011, Potters for Education raised over $4,500.00 for Arts Central’s scholarship fund. Holly Davis, PFE coordinator, says "We are committed to art education and want to give back to the community."

Participating potters include: Diane Burns, Holly Davis, Charlene Hickey, John Kinder, Peter Roussel, Ariel Shriner, Tricia Stutheit and Cathy Willis.

Regular pottery show hours are Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm.

February 2012 - 'Fabrications' - The Art of Quilting

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show (SOQS) is partnering with Arts Central to host the first juried art quilt exhibit to be held in Bend, Oregon. Fabrications - The Art of Quilting opens at Arts Central on Friday February 3, 2012. Opening night coincides with the monthly First Friday Art Walk in Bend. Join us that evening from 5pm to 8pm to meet the artists, explore their creative processes and preview the 2012 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show poster and raffle quilt. The exhibit will include more than 30 quilts and showcase artists from around Central Oregon throughout the month of February.

Arts Central, 875 NW Brooks St., Between the two Mirror Pond parking lots, Wed – Sat., 11am – 4pm
